Peak X-Dry Chest Zip 4/3mm Steamer Wetsuit is a great value for money chest zip steamer with a 100% sealed front zip. It features Peak’s flexible and lightweight X-Stretch neoprene in the arms & shoulders for ease of movement when paddling and also in the knees. It also boasts thermal mesh chest and back panels, a key pocket and X-Dry fast lining.
This suit will offer you superior warmth and stretch due to its chest zip and its glued and blind-stitched (GBS) seams. A chest-zip eliminates the flushing that you’ll get with a back-zip and a chest zip also eliminated the fundamental flaw of a back-zip, which is that it eliminates the ability to curve your back.
This suit is suitable for surfing during winter across most of Australia’s east coast and can even easily handle Victorian conditions, but we dare say would require gloves, boot and hood!
To get the most out of your Peak X-Dry Chest Zip 4/3mm Steamer Wetsuit we recommend washing it with the Australian made Wetsuit Wash and reading our Wetsuit Maintenance Guide.
Peak X-Dry Chest Zip 4/3mm Steamer Wetsuit Features:
- 4/3mm Variable Thickness: By laying 3mm Neoprene in the ‘paddle zones’ and 4mm in the non-stretch zones the warmth/stretch relationship is optimised. The warmer your abdomen the less work your body is doing to retain warmth.
- Dislocating Chest Zip Entry: Chest zips are really the cream of the cake when it comes to wettie zippers, and a dislocating design helps to prevent zipper failure. More stretch and less cold-water flushing is a must-have in any decent surfing wetsuit but you can learn more on our blog.
- GBS seams with internal tape: A blind-stitch is used to avoid creating pin-holes in which water can enter the suit, this is done by using a hooked needle that penetrates around 40-60% of the material depth. The non-stitched portion is then sealed with an elastic glue that not only greatly improves durability but creates an additional level of seal. Watch our video on wetsuit seams.
- Lightweight X-Stretch Neoprene: Super stretchy neoprene places in the shoulders and arms where you need it most.
- X-Dry Quick Dry Lining: For added warmth and comfort
- Mesh Panels: Placed on the front and back to absorb solar heat and reduce wind chill
- Key Pocket
