Billabong 302 Teens Synergy Back Zip GBS Steamer is for the surfer who prioritises warmth, durability and value for money. It has a recycled exterior SuperFlex Jersey and its super light foam is made from upcycled car tyres and neoprene scraps to create amazing thermal retention and high stretch.
In today’s wetsuit world there’s a big trend towards chest zips, in part because it’s suggested that they’re stretchier and warmer. The notion of warmth lies in that a chest-zip suit does not let water into the body compartment, via the zip. Back-zips, on the other hand, tend to let water into the suit, however, the Billabong 302 Teens Synergy Back Zip GBS Steamer features a water barrier between your skin and the zipper, this prohibits all zip-induced water from entering the warm, core compartment.
To get the most out of your Billabong 302 Teens Synergy Back Zip GBS Steamer we recommend washing it with Wetsuit Wash and reading our maintenance guide.
Billabong 302 Teens Synergy Back Zip GBS Steamer Features:
- Super Light Foam: Lightweight, flexible and has great thermal retention. A Super Flex external jersey permits a large range of unimpeded movement, complimented by the Super Flex internally taped seams.
- Glued and Blind Stitched Seams [GBS]: A blind-stitch is used to avoid creating pin-holes in which water can enter the suit, this is done by using a hooked needle that penetrates around 40-60% of the material depth. The non-stitched portion is then sealed with an elastic glue that not only greatly improves durability but creates an additional level of the seal. Watch our video on wetsuit seams.
- Back Zip: Although not as warm as a chest zip, the back zip makes for easy donning and doffing. Find out which wetsuit entry system is best for you on our blog.
- Variable thicknesses: The wetsuit is constructed using 2mm thickness in the high-stress areas (such as the armpit area) and thicker 3mm neoprene in exposed areas such as the large front and back panels
- 100 % Recycled Superflex exterior: Promotes sustainability by reducing plastic microfiber pollution and accumulation in a landfill.
- Graphene + Lining: Billabong’s premium internal lining is laid around your core made from carbon graphene, featured all the way up to their $600+ wetsuits. Furnace lining is hydrophobic and is stitched in a way that creates countless air bubbles in the lining, in turn improving thermal retention! It dries quickly too.
